Privacy and access to information
We are committed to the principles of access to information and the protection of privacy.
The Access to Information Act gives a right of access to information in records under the control of CDIC, according to the principles that the information of government institutions should be available to the public, that necessary exceptions to the right of access should be limited and specific, and that decisions on the disclosure of such information should be reviewed independently by the Office of the Information Commissioner of Canada.
The Privacy Act protects the privacy of individuals with respect to their personal information held by CDIC. It also provides individuals the right to access their own personal information and to request a correction to their personal information.
