Deposit insurance and resolution: Taking our bearings
A policy implementation meeting jointly organized by the Financial Stability Institute (FSI) of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI). The meeting will bring together experts from deposit insurers, resolution authorities and international bodies to take stock of policy considerations following the March 2023 banking crisis, revisit the early reactions, and consider what further work is needed.
CDIC’s Christa Walker will moderate a panel called “Deposit insurance coverage – did anything change?” The session will examine whether the re-evaluation of deposit insurance coverage following the March 2023 banking crisis has lost momentum and consider alternative policy solutions to address the instability of uninsured deposits.
