Possible amendments to the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation Deposit Insurance Information By-law

Description of the objective:

Amendments are being considered through a possible By-law Amending the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation Deposit Insurance Information By-law to ensure that depositors of a Federal Credit Union receive accurate and timely information about transitional deposit insurance coverage offered by the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation during the transition period set out in subsection 12.1(1) of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation Act.

The By-law Amending the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation Deposit Insurance Information By-law would be made pursuant to paragraph 11(2)(f) of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation Act.

Indication of business impacts:

There are no expected business impacts on existing members of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Public consultation opportunities:

Interested stakeholders will have an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed amendments as part of the formal process if the By-law Amending the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation Deposit Insurance Information By-law is approved for pre-publication in the Canada Gazette, Part I.
