CDIC has an immediate opening for a Manager, Finance.

The Manager, Finance (“Manager”) is responsible for the management of the Corporation’s accounting operations including accounts payable, payroll, and back-office treasury functions. In addition, the Manager is responsible for quarterly reporting and the year-end financial statement preparation, including the financial audit process.

Specific accountabilities

  • Managing the accounting and financial reporting operations for the Corporation, including recommending and implementing changes to accounting policies and procedures as well as internal controls for the Corporation;
  • Managing processes around the Corporation’s payroll, commitment control, treasury back-office, and other accounting and tax matters;
  • Managing the preparation of internal financial reports and analyses as required. Liaising with representatives from the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) in conjunction with financial audits or reviews. 
  • Providing technical advice to the Controller with respect to new or emerging accounting issues, as well as any financial risks;
  • Managing the Corporation’s cash flow analyses and estate monitoring activities.

Requirements

  • University degree in a related field and a professional accounting designation (e.g. CA, CGA, CMA);
  • A minimum of five years of experience in the field of accounting and financial operations;
  • Experience in treasury back-office services;
  • Broad knowledge of financial management theories and principles, and International Financial Reporting Standards;
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and supervisory skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential;
  • Bilingualism would be an asset.
